On top of being a husband, a father of 2 boys and an all weather dog walker, I'm a self taught social documentary and portrait photographer based in Cheshire, UK. I am particularly interested in identities, how we transition from one to another during different parts of our lives and how we project, and have projected upon us, different persona in different situations.
I am currently working on a number of projects looking at how traumatic events, particularly those leading to amputations, force a change in people's identities, both in how they see themselves and how others see them.
I use a mix of traditional documentary photography and a more stylised approach to create images that hint at a narrative rather than hit the viewer over the head with a defined story.
Previously I have created work for a variety of clients including: Tiger Aspect Productions, the British Museum, Candis magazine, Experian and NGO media.
